If you are hurting and struggling, you don’t have to be alone. Most people can benefit from therapy.
If you are motivated and invested in your therapy, then you will definitely benefit. Counseling can also be beneficial if you need an objective voice to assist in furthering your personal growth. Ultimately, therapy is about reducing or finding better solutions to your problems.
Your initial session will be 1 hour, all subsequent sessions will be 50-55 minutes.
You can expect that what you talk about in therapy will remain in therapy. State law and professional ethics require therapists to maintain confidentiality.
However, there are some exceptions, such as suspicion of past or present abuse/neglect of children, dependent adults, and/or elders… or if the therapist has reason to suspect past or present threat/harm to oneself or others.
